What is RPG-A-THON?
RPG-A-THON is all about bringing the community together — making games and organizing tabletop and LARP events with local merchants and talented GMs. There are always games to play, opportunities to support the local nonprofits, and prizes to win!
What’s an RPG?
RPG stands for Role-Playing Game — a type of game where players take on the role of a character in a shared story.
Instead of reading a book or watching a movie, you're part of the adventure, making choices for your character as the story unfolds. One person — the Game Master (GM) — guides the game like a storyteller and referee, describing the setting, the challenges, and the outcomes of the players’ decisions.
Most RPGs take place around a table, with dice, character sheets, and imagination as the main tools. Think of it as a mix between improvisational theatre and a board game, where collaboration and creativity are more important than winning.
Some games are serious and dramatic. Others are silly, light-hearted, or even mysterious. There’s something for everyone — and you don’t need to know the rules to try it out.
Just bring an open mind, and we’ll help with the rest!
