Welcome to Dark Ascension LARP!

We are an Alberta based LARP run by Mason Repka, Taylor Bonnah, and Craig Fraser, three friends and passionate LARPers with a combined 25 years of experience.

 The mission of this LARP (Live-Action Roleplaying Experience) is to provide a safe, fun, and immersive world of role-play opportunities. The mechanics are designed to be intuitive and easy to perform for fluid role-play and combat that is safe, theatrical, fast, and encompasses any scenario without unnecessary explanations or stops. We welcome artists, crafters, role players, cosplayers, athletes, medieval enthusiasts, mythology nerds, and all those looking to enjoy and positively contribute to our game. Dark Ascension is written and performed by the players, and we respect and encourage all types of people to bring their passion and creativity to the game, the world, and the story.

Our game is welcoming and inclusive, and we have a costume library available to help new players with costuming and props.

Thematically, we are a lower-fantasy swords and sorcery style medieval setting, and our gameplay style is Factional Resource Management, meaning that players opt to join factions that represent specific nations or entities in the world, all of which are vying for the same or similar resources: access to gold, lands, magic, and most importantly, people. Nothing makes a faction stronger in the world of Dark Ascension than having people join the faction and carry their banners.

We welcome new players regardless of past LARP experience to come out and experience the world of Dark Ascension, and to seek out what magics, mysteries, and adventure awaits them in the Ravenwood!
