2024 Merchants’ Alley

Fantasy Author

table #1

J. M. Shaw has been an avid writer for more than thirty years. Exercising her creative muscles is more than a hobby, it is a passion that, at times, borders on obsession—as a plus, it is decidedly cheaper than therapy. In 2019 she received a diagnosis of autism and ADHD. This was undoubtedly a shock, but, rather than viewing her neurodiversity as a hindrance, she has come to appreciate how her condition provides her a unique perspective on the world and adds distinctiveness to her creative works. Over the years, she has penned several hard drives worth of poems, short stories, and full-length novels, and there are countless ideas still rattling around in her head waiting to be revealed. Only time will tell what lies in store for this avid creator.

Born and bred in Edmonton, I have been doing art my whole life. Concurrently, I work a full-time job, and pursue art on the side. My inspirations come from pop culture in general; anime, movies, board games, video games, music, etc. As a creative, I think the best way to recharge from daily life, is to always put time in your craft, whatever that may be.
